Marines Hanging with Marines
Once a Marine, always a Marine. We recognize no rank, nor do we care if you served one tour or a 20+ year stint, or if you were in the reserves or active duty. What is important to us is that we each earned the EGA which demands equal respect amongst Brothers. We meet once a month and share sea stories and more importantly, we plan and execute good will and outreach within our community. We each bring unique qualities, capabilities, and skill sets and can draw on each other to accomplish most anything. We look after each other and with every thing we do, our families come first. Many of us live too far away to make a monthly meeting but can support our mission/programs in other ways. If you earned the Eagle Globe and Anchor and live on or near the Northern Neck, come join our detachment and hang with some awesome Marines. MISSION STATEMENTThe Marines of MCL Det. 1062 (WHO) look out for each other, our families, and conduct good will and outreach within our community (WHAT) in the Northern Neck and surrounding areas (WHERE) throughout the year (WHEN) in order to uphold our Corps ethos, values and honor of being a United States Marine (WHY).
Our Detachment supports and or executes (but not limited to) the following community programs:
Our detachment provides a bi-monthly newsletter (Northern Neck Globe and Anchor) to our member. In 2011-12 it won an ward from the Department of Virginia Marine Corps League for Editorial Excellence of all 21 Marine Corps League detachments. |
